Mt. Aso has beautiful bright pink make catkins appearing in March and April. The fuzzy buds slowly elongate as they open to almost 2″ long. They make great cut branches for forcing in January and February. Cut back to 1-2′ every couple of years to maintain good flower production. Attractive, blue-cast foliage adds color and presence to the landscape during the remainder of the growing season.
