Similar in habit to Japanese Tree Lilac with smaller darker green leaves and clusters of fragrant flowers which are slightly smaller and whiter contrasting nicely with the foliage. The bark is shiny, coppery colored and exfoliating with prominent lenticels similar to a cherry tree. It can be grown either as a single stem or large multiple stemmed specimen.
